A Powerglide scatter shield provides safety for the vehicles driver, track personal, crew members and spectators. On this page we sell top quality, SFI 4.1 specification approved automatic transmission safety shields. A Powerglide shield meeting SFI specifications is required to be used on vehicles when competing in many different competition events, by most serious competition event sanctioning bodies in order to pass technical inspection and be allowed to participate.
A Powerglide trans shield is a very important piece of safety equipment to have in place on any high performance or competition vehicle. All of our GM scatter shield models are certified as meeting SFI 4.1 specs and they meet or exceed the requirements of all major sanctioning bodies.
All of these safety shields are made from 6061-T6 aluminum and have the most current possible date SFI certification approval specification decal on them when shipped. The part numbers listed below include the SFI approved PG trans shield, bottom strap, hardware and installation instructions.

Key Benefits
- A properly installed powerglide transmission shield will provide greatly increased safety
for driver, car and bystanders. - SFI spec approved, required by many sanctioning bodies, in numerous classes, in
order to pass technical inspection before being allowed to compete. - They look great and allow the transmission to run much cooler than the transmission
blanket type safety device, because our shields allow for air circulation around the
entire transmission. The solid aluminum type does not become near as dirty as a blanket type and it is far easier to clean.
Powerglide Transmission Variants
There have been two main versions of the PG trans produced, an early model with cast iron case and the far more common model which uses an aluminum case. The parts listed on this page are for use on the aluminum case models.
